How time flies, huh? I’m less than a week from completing my practical placement here in with Friends of the Earth & Kanindé in Porto Velho, Brazil. So I am currently squeezing the last out of my stay. Eating plenty of fruit, enjoying the heat and the scenery I might never see again. Trying to think about what I’ve learned and what I’ll take with me from this adventure (no worries I’m not done posting stuff yet).
You see I arrived to Brazil on the 20th of Febuary and since then a lot has happened. I’ve had the privelegie to visit 3 different indigenous tribes and 3 other communities. I’ve gone from barely understanding a phrase in Portugese to actually being able to hold a conversation!
For me this has also been a time where I’ve gotten to practice and develop my writing and photography. I’m actually quite proud of a few photos I’ve taken here. One of the coolest things yet was to participate in ATL in Brasília, one of the largest indigenous manifestacions, which even reached Swedish news! That post and pictures was also published on Friend’s of the Earth’s webpage. I am so grateful for being given all these opportunities, I mean which tourist can say that they’ve done all these things??
… Also, I think I’ve gained at least 4 kilos by eating all this delicous Brazilian foods (worth it).
I know I’m not very good at including myself in the pictures I post, so here’s a few that’s been taken over the weeks 🙂
